as usual, haven been blogging in a very very long time... since its the holidays, i thought that i'll do a post on the happenings in my life...
after the chinese new year, had the usual sum of hong pao money. haven had such a large amount in a long time and i began to be extravagent...
bought a G-Shock watch... had always wanted one... part of the macho image i guess. i only wear my 25 hrs watch when i go out now. Casio is for wearing to school...
went with my sister to marina one sunday to spend her $100 creative voucher. when she spent, i also spent. bought this new set of speakers from creative.
the speakers on my table... rather large sub woofer.
the remote control, for bass level and volume. i would say this speakers are very solid... the volume is incredible. can hear from the hall. watch movie really got cinematic experience.
at the behest of shawn, i went to sim lim to buy a piece of 512MB Pc133 SD ram. now, my comupter had only 320MB, which wasn't enough as it was always lagging and kept hanging. so i thought, maybe the ram will make it so darn fast.
went home happily and tried the ram. the bios woont even boot. went to shawn's place and tried it on his IBM. also cannot. so we concluded that the ram is probably broken. as such, we went to kingston yesterday. the guy tested the ram and it was working. den i argue with him. i put into 2 computers but cannot use. den how? so he asked for my com model number. he went to kingston to check and it turned out that my this com can only take a total of 512MB. so a 512MB ram wont work. must split into 256MB X2.
so we had to return to the shop to change. the indian charge me $10 service charge for breaking the seal. so i got a 256MB ram with another SD card and i had to top up $3.
so now my com has 512MB total ram and that's the max it can go. so i already upgrade my com until it cannot tahan already. 1 network card, 1 PCI USB 2.0 card, 512MB ram, 40 GB hard disk, DVD writer and CD writer.
i'll just hold out for another 2 yrs when i come out of army and get a new com. Quad core or wadever.
so after all the retail therapy, i'm back to being a poor person. totally broke now...
